Each series In Works on Paper documents an exploration of a natural-world phenomenon that has caught my attention.
Pond Events is the name I gave to the recurring experience of just missing something that just happened in a pond in upstate New York. A whoosh, a splash,and something unseen would leave its momentary mark on the surface of the water.
The Fields and Meanders Series is an appreciation of the endlessly beautiful juxtaposition of the patterns and geometry of agriculture with the quirky and unruly meander of rivers and streams as seen when flying over the American Midwest.
The Tidal pieces respond to the rapid writing of light on the complex overlap of low tide washes on the Santa Monica Shore.
